We are a member of the Australian Private Hospital Associations. We also have strategic alliance with overseas hospitals and are fully compliant with the Private Hospitals Act of Fiji. We are also fully recognized as a fully-fledged Hospital. Our x-rays, scans and others diagnostic imaging is reported by a qualified radiologist. Note that there are only 3 qualified radiologists in Fiji.
We have two generators for continuity of services in case of power failure.
Our clinical team – specialists, general practitioners, nurses take part in weekly Continuous Medical Education (CMEs) sessions. This is conducted every Wednesday from 7am-8am where a member of the clinical fraternity in Fiji – (usually a specialist) further educates those that attend on topics which may be of significant awareness. This session is also open to other external GPs and clinicians.
Apart from the CMEs, our clinicians take part in regular internal training e.g. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). In this classroom-based course, providers enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies, while earning their points for certification to practice.
Other training include:-
Laboratory: – MIOT Pacific Hospitals has active participation of internationally recognized external quality assurance programs. Histology is reported by overseas pathologists.
Clinical Governance Committee: – this committee sits every month. The purpose of this committee is to ensure that we are continuously improving the quality of our services and safeguarding high standards of patient care by creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care will flourish.
Infection Control: – We take measures to help prevent and stop the spread of healthcare associated infection. Our staff are trained in the importance of hand hygiene and you will see them washing and sanitizing their hands regularly. You and your visitors are encouraged to wash and sanitize your hands with the alcohol hand gel provided.
Fire Procedure: – In the event of a fire, an alarm will sound continuously. On hearing the alarm, follow the instructions of the fire wardens and please do not panic. Staff are trained in the fire and evacuation procedures. Please do not leave the ward without informing the nursing staff.
