Food & Beverage

If you’re an in-patient at MIOT Pacific Hospitals, there is no need to dread the bland, characterless food that’s served at other hospitals.

Our kitchen is commercially equipped and offers fine and healthy cuisines for all dietary requirements for in-patients, staff and the general public.

Confidentiality

The confidentiality of patient information is of paramount concern to us. We will only share information about the patient’s treatment with other persons whom the patient may nominate.

Access to Information

Access to non-medical information may be granted to others by MIOT Pacific Hospitals or by a patient’s insurer if applicable on a strictly confidential basis in the course of and for the purpose of efficient admission, for example audits, financial management, credit control or improving our service. This access may be given to any person or organization involved in billing, processing, payment or collection of accounts. In some instances, we may be obliged by law to disclose information for example where it may assist in fraud investigations or for the notification of births or deaths or infectious diseases.

CCTV, Video and Telephone Call Recordings

We use CCTV at some sites for security purposes and by signing the Admission Form, the patient, any authorised representative or sponsor/guarantor consents to footage being taken during the patient’s admission, operation or treatment.

Confidentiality for other patients and visitors

We also ask that patients and visitors consider the privacy of other patients and visitors to the Hospital. We regularly treat people with high media profiles and their families. They would want that treatment to be a private matter and we ask that you support their wishes by not discussing fellow patient issues.

Drugs or Weapons

If the Hospital at any time believes or suspects that there may be a weapon, illegal substance, alcoholic beverage or illegal drugs in a patients room or with their belongings, the Hospital may search the room and belongings and confiscate any of the above items that may be found and dispose of them as appropriate, including the delivery of any such item to the Fiji Police Force.

Governing Law

The contract between MIOT Pacific Hospitals, the patient, their authorised representative or guarantor/sponsor as set out in the Admission Guide is construed by and in accordance with the laws of Fiji and the Courts of Fiji shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute in respect of this contract.

Patients can refer themselves directly to us or get referred to a Specialist Consultant by their General Practitioner (GP). Patients will need to check that the treatment or procedure required is covered by their private medical insurance. Once this is ascertained, the patient attends an out-patient appointment with a consultant. Tests required can either be carried out immediately or booked for a later date.
